Human Resource & Administrative Officer

Role, purpose & scope:

The HR & Administration Officer is responsible for designing, development and implementation of Human Resource and Administration functions in accordance with the existing Human Resource and Administration policies, rules, regulations, and procedures


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Implementation, interpretation and reviewing appropriate human resource management and administration policies, rules, regulations and procedures

  • Assist in ensuring that the organization's goal, vision, mission and core values are owned and shared by all employees.

  • Ensure compliance with human resource rules, regulations, policies, procedures and industry practices.

  • Assist in designing and implementation of human resource plans, initiatives and strategies to ensure a lean and Engaged/Motivated work force

  • Assist in coordinating the processes of recruitment, placement, onboarding, promotion, training and development, and exit/separation of staff in accordance with the organizational laid down policies and procedures

  • Coordinate Performance management in the Organization

  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health rules and regulations

  • Management of Employee labor and industrial relations

  • Management of staff records, both in hard copies and electronic versions (checklist and update). updating and ensuring the accuracy of these documents.

  • Management of Organizational Leave Policy

  • Handling disciplinary matters and grievances in a fair and reasonable manner.


Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • At least seven years of progressive experience (or similar) – preferably working with diverse young teams.

  • Previous experience working with Donor funded organizations.

  • A strong commitment to IMPACT values and ethos 

  • Team Player 

  • Excellent Supervisory skills and good performance track record 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong computer literacy with full knowledge of MS Office applications.


Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • Must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution

  • Must be a Certified Human Resource Practioner (CHRP-K) or at least Part IV of CHRP

  • Must be a Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management 

  • Must be an IHRM Member and in good standing.
